ROOMMATES

Linocut print on paper

Spiders, dragonflies and tree mice,

chickens, foxes, cats and flies.

There are many who call this place "mine". The growing series of linocuts is created on cold winter nights when I feel reminded of the farmers who lived on this farm before me. I cut linoleum the way they sharpened their tools while telling each other stories, of the animals that lived with them.

to my dear Antoine

Copper engravings & linocuts

Excerpts from a visual biography of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The illustrations were created along the letters that Antoine and his mother wrote and drew to each other.

shine on you

Oil on canvas

Bodies arise when light falls on matter.

Ideas arise when sense meets motivation.

floras carneval

Pencil on paper

The series deals with the thought game of what it would look like if plants could disguise themselves. Who would they want to be, what would they wear, what would you think of them?

An attempt to let the roots grow wings.

wildflowers of gascony

Pencil, fineliner & watercolor on paper

This series is study and documentation of the plant life found on my farm, in Gascony. It is an attempt to get to know them better through the drawing.

TUSHE & DRUCK

L'ENCRE ME PARLE

Natural ink on paper

My fascination with inks begins with the originality with which the liquid draws its line. Saturation, density, consistency - every ink is different. But what exactly is ink? Some time ago, I came across an explanation that captivated me:

„Ink can be made from anything that has color“ (Jason Logan). Pigments, water and time, that is the recipe. The rest is up to the cook. In this series, I'm exploring the dynamics of my own inks, filtered or unfiltered, stirred or shaken, liquid or dry.

DIRECTION OF FLOW

Ink & gouache on paper

The space, the depth of black and the

red of the signatures - all come from

the Japanese tradition of sumi-e painting.

Without appropriating the culture,

I am looking for a way to take this

technique and develop my own dynamics.

At the beginning, the question is

whether the sumi-e technique can be

extracted from its geographical, historical

and cultural context without

imitating it. India ink & gouache on

paper.

DUST & paint

Mixed media

A 200-year-old farm house, memories, dust, particles, bits of color, and lots of starry skies all around...

What happens if you'd pick it all up and give it a good shake?
